About Us

We are a Church community which has worshiped here for at least a thousand years.

There was a Saxon church in Heytesbury at least as early as 1086, when the Domesday Book records it as being held by Alward the Priest. The present Grade I Listed building, begun in the late 12th century, was probably built on the same site as, or developed over time from, the earlier Saxon structure. The existing Collegiate church, dedicated to St Peter and St Paul, dates from the 12th century but parts were probably rebuilt in the early 15th century. Our church is open every day during the hours of daylight.
